Duchess Meghan has been wearing two new gold rings by a Canadian designer – here’s how you can get them!

Eagle-eyed royal watchers couldn’t help but notice Duchess Meghan was wearing two new gold rings when she stepped out to a gender equality panel at Windsor Castle on Oct. 25. Now we know they’re by a Canadian designer – and they support a very good cause!

The two bands are by Montreal’s Vargas Goteo, founded just under a decade ago by Alex Prijic Smith. The brand’s main goal is to create “statement pieces that start a conversation about conservation” by donating some of the profits from each piece of jewellery to environmental charities.

“To see my work out there and on such a remarkable woman really is a dream come true,” Alex told People. “Meghan always exudes ease and elegance, refinement and a freshness in everything she steps out in – I loved what she wore!”

Meghan was wearing the Manta Kiss Ring, priced at $180 or $600 for a gold-plated version or solid gold version, along with the High Seas Bow Knot Ring in gold vermeil, which is priced at $180. Proceeds from the former ring go to the Manta Trust, which supports research on manta rays’ habitats and their conservation.

“I think it’s apparent when eco-socio awareness runs deep, and Meghan is a shining example of that,” Alex told People. “Whether in her actions, her words, or her choice of brands, she stays true to shining a light on the value of compassion and efforts made to create positive change.”

Of course, Meghan is a big supporter of conservation, loves using fashion to highlight sustainability and is a big fan of ethical jewellery brands. She is particularly fond of brands Pippa Small, the Turquoise Mountain Foundation , Kimai and i+I Jewellery, all of which donate parts of their profits to charitable causes. Kimai uses lab-grown diamonds, and ethically-sourced diamonds and stones are important to the duchess.

Meghan’s engagement ring features two diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection, but also includes a centre cushion-cut diamond that is ethically sourced from Botswana. Earlier this year, the duchess had the ring redesigned, replacing its gold band with a delicate diamond-studded one.

Given Meghan’s tendency to prompt mad rushes on products she wears, causing them to sell out fast, you’d better act quickly if you want to get a Manta Kiss Ring or High Seas Bow Knot Ring yourself!
