Mike Tindall accidentally shares the adorable nickname he has for wife Zara Tindall

By Zach Harper

Just when we thought we’d heard it all in terms of royal nicknames, Mike Tindall surprised everyone by accidentally revealing what he calls Zara Tindall during an interview in Japan!

The former rugby star is currently in Tokyo for the Rugby World Cup, a trophy he won as part of England’s 2003 side in Australia. England are into the final this year, and will take on South Africa on Nov. 2.

During an interview with Alex Payne on the RugbyJoe podcast, Mike was asked an awkward question: Would he rather marry a royal or win the Rugby World Cup?

“Well, I’ve done both, technically,” he replied, before saying, “Well, hang on, will it be my wife that I’m marrying?”

“Could we take Zoey out of it… ‘cause obviously, if it’s my wife [we’re talking about], I would marry my wife.”

Zoey! Adorable.

Mike has been in Japan since mid-October when the Rugby World Cup started, working on his podcast, House of Rugby.

Zara – or should we call her Zoey? – his wife of eight years, clearly missed him because she joined him there this week ahead of the final. The two got in some sightseeing in Tokyo, taking a lovely selfie together on the streets, which they shared on his Instagram account. He also posted some photos of the bustling Takeshita Street in Tokyo’s Harajuku district of Shibuya.

The two were later joined by Zara’s brother Peter Phillips for a meal out in Tokyo. They all posed for a lovely photo together while enjoying their food, which Mike shared to his Instagram.

It’s not known whether the couple’s children, Mia, 5, and one-year-old Lena are with them.
