Duchess Kate and Prince William step out to launch of National Emergencies Trust

Prince William and Duchess Kate stepped out to the launch of the National Emergencies Trust (NET) on Nov. 7, a cause that's important to both of their hearts.
NET is an organization that will work to coordinate emergency responses to terrorist attacks and natural disasters in the UK. It's a subject important to the Duke of Cambridge, who used to be a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The couple met with survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire and Westminster Bridge terror attack while at St-Martin-in-the-Fields... and they also met some of their canine companions!

Kate looked spectacular at the engagement, wearing a royal blue bespoke Emilia Wickstead dress (with the appropriate name "Kate"), black heels and Princess Diana's earrings. The carried a black clutch, accessorized with a poppy brooch in honour of Remembrance Day next week, and was grinning as soon as she arrived.

Once inside, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were keen to speak to those who were there, some of whom were survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire and the 2017 Westminster Bridge terror attack.

While there, William made a speech in which he touched on the importance of emergency preparedness. He also said he and Kate were "humbled" by meeting the survivors of the fire and terror attack, and paid some compliments to children at the event, who had "emptied their piggy banks" to help.
"Their stories are as heart-breaking as they are inspiring," he said. "Their resilience and strength are deeply humbling.
"In talking to survivors, I've always been inspired to hear about the help they were offered by people and organizations acting on their own initiative with immediate and heartfelt compassion. This empathy is both natural, and remarkable."
William went on to say he and Kate "dread" the day the charity "is needed" but are glad it is there to help.
