Duchess Kate and Prince William step out to event for Shout, the mental health text service they helped create

Duchess Kate and Prince William attended Shout's Crisis Volunteer celebration event at London's Troubadour White City Theatre.
Shout was launched by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan in May. The 24/7 text messaging support service has 1,500 volunteers, some of whom they met during the event on Nov. 12. While there, they watched a special performance and comforted parents whose children have dealt with mental health struggles.

As always, Kate looked incredible when she arrived, wearing a grey check blazer from Smythe, burgundy pants from Joseph and black suede Gianvito Rossi heels. We love seeing the royals wearing Canadian designers and they certainly love Smythe!

The duchess was also wearing earrings and a matching necklace from Mappin and Webb.

Seventy-five per cent of the people who have contacted the service are under 25 years old, and the most frequent subjects they discuss are suicide (37 per cent), depression (36 per cent), relationships (29 per cent), anxiety (31 per cent), isolation (19 per cent) and self-harm (17 per cent).

William gave an impromptu speech at the event, in which he praised volunteers.
“Catherine and I heard outside about how many of you are waking up at 3am to answer the peak demand,” he said. “The fact we’ve had to launch Shout shows just how in need the mental health sector is at the minute. We still have an enormous challenge ahead of us. Catherine and I – and I know I speak for Harry and Meghan as well – couldn’t be more proud of what Shout has accomplished.”
