Duchess Meghan’s famous Deal or No Deal briefcase is going up for auction!
Now, the No. 24 briefcase she used for 34 episodes of the game show is going up for auction in the Hollywood: A Collector’s Ransom Auction. It looks just like this one, but with a different number:
The Duchess of Sussex joined the TV show in 2006, during its second season. She stayed in the role for just a year before moving on to other acting projects, which eventually included Suits.
In the auction catalog, the famous briefcase is described as an “original game show prop briefcase” that's in “fine condition” with “minor production wear.” The aluminium case has the iconic “24” affixed to the front casing.
Inside, there's a block with “$5,000” set into a foam-fitted crushed red velvet lining. (The older blue crushed velvet interior inserts were replaced by red crushed velvet for season three.)
The catalog lists the briefcase between US$4,000 and US$6,000. The Sun reports the prop is expected to fetch around £5,000 (approximately $8,717) when it hits the auction block on Dec. 17.
The former actress previously told Esquire her time on Deal or No Deal wasn’t quite as glamorous as it appeared.
“I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down,” she admitted.
Chrissy Teigen, who was also a “briefcase girl” with Meghan, has discussed their time together during interviews.
“I was on Deal or No Deal with her and she was lovely,” the now-mom of two explained. "Now everyone asks me what she was like and I say, ‘Sorry, no dirt.’ She’s gorgeous.”
The supermodel elaborated during an interview with Watch What Happens Live.
“I just remember [her as] very quiet and sweet,” she told Andy Cohen. "I got nothing...Really kind, and I don’t say that about anybody.”
