“I don’t know Meghan, but I can definitely sympathize with the struggle,” Jane told Us Weekly exclusively.
“You never know. I never believe what the newspapers say anyway, so I don’t know what the truth is,” the British actress continued, seemingly referencing some of the critical coverage of Meghan. “It’s not easy being in the public eye.”
The Live and Let Die actress also showed her support for the Royal Family and revealed she has personally met some members.
“What I have and what I went through is a fraction of what they have and went through and they went through it from birth,” he said. “They didn’t even get 10 years like I did… I have a huge amount of respect and empathy for them.”
In November, Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, called the criticism Meghan has received “totally undeserved.”
In the same month, former US First Lady Hillary Clinton publicly shared her support for the American duchess.
“Oh, my God, I want to hug her!” she said in a heartfelt interview. “I feel as a mother I just want to put my arms around her.”
