Merry Christmas, Prince George and Princess Charlotte! Duchess Kate and Prince William’s two eldest children made their debuts at Sandringham on Christmas Day as they attended church service with the Royal Family!
Charlotte and George walked hand-in-hand with both of their parents as they accompanied the clan to the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on the family estate for the first time. George looked smart in a navy blue shirt and white shirt with a blazer overtop, while Charlotte wore an emerald green double-breasted coat that matched her mother’s fascinator, shoes and clutch!
Prince Louis wasn’t at the service this year, as he’s only 19 months old.
You may be thinking… haven’t Charlotte and George been pictured at the church service before? You’re half right there. The two eldest Cambridge children went with their parents to church in Bucklebury while they were spending Christmas with the Middletons in 2016. You’ll remember George was pictured enjoying a candy cane while he left church that year, while proud mom Kate carried her daughter, just about a year-and-a-half old at the time, in her arms.
George and Charlotte’s debuts at the service are pretty in line with the ages royal children have accompanied their parents for Christmas Day service in the past. William first joined Prince Charles and Princess Diana at Sandringham in 1987 when he was five years old, and Prince Harry made his debut the next year at age four.
This is the second time in a week royal watchers have seen the two eldest Cambridge children. George, Charlotte and Louis all attended the Queen’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace last week, and we got to see a lovely photo of all three kids sitting in the back of a car while they left the Palace. Charlotte again matched her mother at the lunch, since they were both wearing tartan outfits!
We hope George, Charlotte and Louis have had good Christmases! Charlotte reportedly asked for a pony this year, while William has said George was likely going to receive something to do with soccer and drawing, which he loves.
