What a decade! How the Royal Family changed from 2010 to 2019

It's been an incredible 10 years for the Royal Family! "The Firm" has seen three royal weddings since 2010, the births of eight royal babies and plenty of growth and change, along with lots of work!

Duchess Kate and Prince William, 2010
It's easy to forget that at the beginning of the decade, Duchess Kate and Prince William weren't married!

Duchess Kate and Prince William, 2010
The couple capped off their year by announcing their engagement in November. They had made plans to tie the knot after William popped the question on a trip to Kenya earlier in 2010. The two were wed in the storybook wedding of the decade on April 29, 2011.

The Cambridge family, 2019
By the end of the decade, the Cambridges were a family of five, following the births of Prince George in 2013, Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince Louis in 2017.

Prince Harry, 2010
A baby-faced Prince Harry visited Barbados on a three-day tour at the beginning of 2010, and also took part in the Sentebale Cup to raise funds for the charity, which he had started with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho four years earlier.

Duchess Meghan, 2010
At the beginning of the decade, a 28-year-old Meghan Markle was just starting to see her acting career take off. That year, she appeared in Get Him to the Greek with Russell Brand and Remember Me with Robert Pattinson.
The next year, she scored the role on Suits that brought her to Toronto and eventually helped her become introduced to Prince Harry.

The Sussex family, 2019
By the end of the decade, Harry and Meghan got married in one of the most watched weddings of the century, and had welcomed their first child, Archie.
Harry had also firmly established himself as a major player in the Royal Family, founding the Invictus Games in 2014.

The Queen, 2010
Her Majesty began what would be a huge decade for her with an address to the UN General Assembly that July. It was the second of her life. She had previously given a speech to the international body in 1957, four years after her coronation, and lots had happened since!
Later that year, the Queen celebrated the birth of Savannah Phillips, her first great-grandchild.

The Queen, 2019
By the end of the decade, the 93-year-old monarch had celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, "parachuted" into the 2012 London Olympics, and seen the births of eight great-grandchildren.

Prince Philip, 2010
At the beginning of the decade, an 89-year-old Prince Philip was still one of the most active royals. The next year, he turned 90, and said he would slow down with his engagements, having served admirably.

Prince Philip, 2019
By the end of the decade, the Duke of Edinburgh, now 98, had retired from official royal duties and was spending most of his time at Sandringham, where he was engaging in hobbies such as water colour painting and reading.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, 2010
The Prince of Wales continued to be one of the most active members of the Royal Family at the beginning of the decade, five years after having married Camilla. The two would go on to travel extensively together on official royal trips, such as New Zealand and Ireland.

By the end of the decade, Charles had seen the births of four grandchildren and his duties as future King were ramped up significantly. In 2019, he attended more engagements than any other member of the Royal Family, including a tour of the Caribbean with Camilla in which the couple were the first British royals to visit Cuba.

Princess Anne, 2010
At the beginning of the decade, Anne saw the birth of her first grandchild, Savannah.

The Countess of Wessex, 2010
Sophie's royal duties also ramped up during this decade, and in 2011 she travelled to Afghanistan with husband Prince Edward.
During the Diamond Jubilee year, she visited the Caribbean on the Queen's behalf, and also travelled to India and Qatar in 2013.

The Countess of Wessex, 2019
By the end of the decade, Sophie was one of the busiest royals, putting in plenty of work as a patron of charities in fields such as the environment, agriculture and food production, along with improving things for women in business worldwide.

Mike Tindall and Zara Phillips, 2010
Like William and Kate, Mike and Zara announced their engagement at the end of 2010. They were married the following year.

By the end of the decade, the Tindalls had two daughters: Mia, born 2014, and Lena, born 2017. Zara had also competed in the Olympics as an equestrian... and won a silver medal!

Princess Beatrice, 2010
The eldest Princess of York started the decade still at university! She graduated in 2011 with a BA in History and History of Ideas and went on to work as an Intern at Sony Pictures.

By the end of the decade, Beatrice was engaged to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and was working as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti, a data and software company based in the US.

Princess Eugenie, 2010
Like Beatrice, Princess Eugenie was still in school at the beginning of the decade. She graduated from Newcastle University in 2012, with an English literature and art degree.
