Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan return to work with special engagement at Canada House

Welcome back to work, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked an end of their six-week break from royal duties with a special visit to Canada House in London on Jan. 7. Smiling and looking well rested after their vacation in Canada, the couple thanked our country for its hospitality and the warmth we extended them during their stay.
The new mom and dad reportedly spent Christmas in British Columbia with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, and a host of their friends, enjoying outdoors activities such as hiking in the beautiful North Saanich area of Vancouver Island.
At Canada House, they met with Canada's High Commissioner to the UK and enjoyed a variety of cultural activities.

They took some time to chat with well-wishers, many of whom are probably Canadian ex-patriates living in London, before heading inside.

After that, Meghan and Harry viewed an exhibit of artwork by Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) multimedia artist Skawennati.

Skawennati is the current Indigenous Knowledge Holder at Montreal's McGill University, and much of her work involves imagining Indigenous lives in the future, using science-fiction as her inspiration.

Skawennati has said her work pushes against past depictions of Indigenous peoples in Canada, which have shown First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples as silent and unnamed.

She wants to show active, engaged and visible people telling their stories and truths instead. Meghan and Harry seemed very interested and engaged in the exhibit. There's a good chance they spent time getting to know some of Vancouver Island's 50 First Nations while staying there.
