It wasn't just Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan who were enamoured with Canada's splendour during their extended leave from royal duties. During their first royal engagement of 2020 at London's Canada House, Meghan revealed their son Archie was captivated by our country's beauty!
As they returned to work, the couple met with Janice Charette, the Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and other staff members to show their appreciation for Canada's hospitality during their stay, which was reportedly on Vancouver Island.
During the very sweet event, Meghan told diplomats about how eight-month-old Archie enjoyed himself.
"My goodness, it was just such an incredible time we were able to have there and with our son, too," she explained. "And just to be able to take in the warmth that we experienced from the people also just walk around and just see the beauty of Canada.
"To see Archie go 'ahh' when you walk by and just see how stunning it is, so it meant a lot to us."
Before entering Canada House, Harry and Meghan also spoke with staff members outside. Meghan again remarked on Canada's striking beauty.
"Meghan said it was beautiful," according to Jamie Weare, from Ontario. "They seemed really relaxed and happy.”
Harry also made a crack about the weather!
"He said it was raining a lot of the time," revealed Jamie, although one of her colleagues was reportedly quick to point out that Harry laughed when he said the comment, so he might have been joking.
That said, Environment Canada reports the Victoria and North Saanich areas of British Columbia where the Sussexes reportedly stayed received approximately 121 millimetres of precipitation in December. The climate in the area is typically drier in comparison to the rest of Vancouver Island.
