Duchess Kate absolutely stunned in an embellished Needle & Thread dress at the reception she and Prince William hosted at Buckingham Palace for the UK-Africa Investment Summit on Jan. 20. Even with all of the incredible sparkle of her gown, the Duchess of Cambridge's ruby earrings didn't go unnoticed!
Kate played into the red theme of her shimmering dress by accessorizing with Gianvito Rossi red suede pumps, a red clutch and ruby earrings by Soru Jewellery. The sparkling baubles added even more flare to her ornate dress, and their drop style was still visible, even beneath her cascading brunette waves.
The Soru Jewellery Ruby Earrings ($243) are "handcrafted from 18kt yellow gold vermeil on sterling silver [and] genuine semi precious ruby gemstones are set within multifaceted sparkling crystals."
Soru (which means sisters in Sicilian) is a jewellery brand founded by two English-Sicilian sisters with the goal of creating luxurious, head-turning pieces from high quality materials while still maintaining attainable prices. Soru Jewellery's pieces are ethically made in Turkey or Italy.
At $243, the earrings are one of the more attainable pieces in Kate's impressive jewellery collection. Those who are interested in getting the duchess's look will be happy to hear the earrings are available to pre-order!
Kate has shown her support for the UK-based brand before. She has worn the Soru Baroque Pearl Double Sided Earrings ($235) on multiple occasions, including during her visit to Canada in 2016! Additionally, she donned them at Wimbledon and to an art fund gala at the Natural History Museum.
In 2016, Soru Jewellery designer Francesca Kelly told HELLO! Canada Kate wearing her brand has had a huge impact on its business.
"The Duchess of Cambridge is not only a style icon but a wonderful role model, and we are very proud to see her looking so beautiful in our jewellery."
