Duchess Kate surprised royals fans when she held a gala dinner at Buckingham Palace in celebration of the 25th anniversary for her patronage Place2Be on March 9. She made quite the impression in a sapphire blue embellished Jenny Packham gown, Jimmy Choo heels and coordinating blue crystal and pearl earrings from Erdem.
Her earrings from Erdem were a show-stopping style, thanks to the blue crystals and pearls arranged in a swirling design to mimic dainty flowers. The different colours of the earrings played off the rich embroidery in the mom of three's gown in an arresting manner.
The jewels were once available to purchase on MatchesFashion.com for approximately $550, but they are currently sold out.
The sparklers also have a Canadian connection because fashion designer Erdem Moralıoğlu was born in Montreal. Kate has worn the London-based designer on a number of occasions, including another pair of earrings to the Royal Variety Performance in London last November.
Royals fans might recall Kate has worn the Jenny Packham gown before. The duchess first donned it during her royal visit to India and Bhutan with William in 2016. At the time, they were attending a Bollywood-inspired charity gala at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.
The Duchess of Cambridge tweaked the look for her most recent outing. She originally paired the embellished gown with a coordinating long shawl for a sari-inspired effect.
Interestingly, Kate also matched her earrings to her dress in Mumbai. She selected a pair of bold blue earrings from Indian jeweller Amrapali.
Earlier on March 9, Kate joined multiple members of the Royal Family, including Prince William, the Queen, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, at Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
It was a significant moment for them all because it marked Harry and Meghan's final official joint outing as working senior members of the Royal Family.
For the event, Kate was clad in a Catherine Walker coat with coordinating Sally-Ann Provan floral fascinator, burgundy heels and diamond and ruby floral earrings from Mouawad.
The rarely seen earrings are part of a set the duchess first wore back in 2011 to a gala. The set is known as the Mouawad Ruby and Diamond Demi-Parure.
The floral-themed earrings have even more significance because they are thought to be a wedding present from an unknown well-wisher, and William and Kate will be celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary on April 29.
