Archie Harrison turns one year old on May 6, and it sounds like he'll be walking and talking very soon!
Royal reporter Katie Nicholl recently told Entertainment Tonight that a source said the 11-month-old is adjusting very well to his new life in Los Angeles with mom Duchess Meghan and dad Prince Harry. The couple were reported to have moved to the City of Angels last month.
"I spoke to someone who had been sent a video of Archie a few weeks back," Katie told the outlet. "He said that he is super cute and a really, really happy little boy. He's burbling and sort of desperate to talk, but already mastered cruising and is well on his way to walking. He may even be walking already. I was told very cute, very, very happy, and very confident little boy."
The family of three have been following social distancing rules and have been staying inside their home. Los Angeles is still under a shelter in place order due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has hit the city very hard. As of this writing, it had more than 9,400 confirmed cases and 322 deaths attributed to COVID-19, according to the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine.
Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother, lives in the city, which is also the duchess's hometown. While Katie said the two haven't seen each other in person since Meghan, Harry and Archie arrived in the city, they've been doing an excellent job keeping in touch "through social media."
"[They're] not actually seeing each other in person, which must be incredibly hard for Meghan being so close to her mother, just a matter of miles away," Katie said. "And equally different, one would imagine, for Doria because she hasn't been able to see Archie. But I am told by reliable sources that they're taking social distancing and the government guidelines very seriously indeed."
Last week, it was revealed the Sussexes will name their non-profit foundation Archewell. They were said to have filed trademark applications for it in March, just prior to stepping down from their senior royal roles.
According to the Telegraph, "arche" was the source of inspiration for Archie's name, and they were eyeing it for their foundation before Sussex Royal.
"Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic, but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be," they said in a statement, according to the publication.
"Before SussexRoyal came the idea of 'arche' – the Greek word meaning 'source of action.' We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son's name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right."
