According to Town & Country, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are backing the Stop Hate for Profit campaign. The initiative is backed by human rights organizations, and the couple have been asking CEOs to get behind it, too, the publication reports. The campaign argues Facebook has not done enough to curb hate speech and misinformation on the platform and is encouraging an advertising boycott.
A source also told HELLO! UK the couple have met with groups such as the NAACP, Color of Change and the Anti-Defamation League in connection with the campaign.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been working on how to move the tech industry in a more humane direction – this includes their longstanding advocacy for supporting mental health in the social media era, was a key focus of a visit they convened at Stanford University back in February, and is also fundamentally connected to what they are building into their new organization, Archewell," a source told HELLO! UK.
"[They] believe there is an urgent and pressing need to remodel the framework of our online public spaces (which is an important issue for them that will be reflected in their nonprofit Archewell) in a way that is defined more by compassion than hate; by truth instead of misinformation; by equity and inclusiveness instead of injustice and fear mongering; free, not weaponized, speech."
Earlier this month, Meghan gave a special address to the graduating class of her former high school in which she spoke about George Floyd's death and racial justice. An additional report earlier in June stated the couple had been meeting with community organizers to discuss anti-Black racism and other issues related to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Meghan has recorded this message in support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. The Duchess of Sussex addressed the graduating 2020 class at her old school: “You are going to lead with love, you are going to lead with compassion, you are going to use your voice. You are going to use your voice in a stronger way than you've ever been able to because most of you are 18 or are going to turn 18 so you're going to vote." The news that the couple are supporting the Stop Hate for Profit campaign comes just after it was revealed the Sussexes had signed with Harry Walker Agency, a speaking agency that also handles arrangements by the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the agency will represent the Sussexes at events that will include "moderated discussions and keynote speeches with trade associations, corporations and community forums." The news was also confirmed by HELLO! UK.
The Los Angeles Times reports Harry and Meghan are set to focus on key causes that are very important to them, such as racial justice and equality, the rights of women and girls, mental health and the environment and conservation.
