The Duchess of Cornwall talks about how she first became involved with the Silver Swans, a @royalacademyofdance initiative that encourages older people to take up ballet, in a clip from today’s @bbc5live programme 並 The Duchess guest edited the @emmabarnett Show to discuss life in lockdown and the charities HRH has been working with over the past few months. "I was hopeless with the internet, I didn't even like it either," admitted the 72-year old.
"As I said before, I thought, 'what an annoying thing,' you know, it's doing all these terrible things.
"But the minute I got into lockdown and I've lived with the internet. We've seen family, we've talked, we've laughed, we've joked, we've – you know, we've done everything with it."
Camilla said she's seen her grandchildren during a socially distanced visit, and said many emotions came up while seeing her loved ones.
"You eventually get to meet them. You're so excited because you haven't seen them for three-and-a-half months, and your first reaction is to run up and hug them, and you have to sort of put up your hands," she said, in comments to which we can definitely relate!
"It's a very odd feeling, I shall look forward to the day when I can give them a huge hug again."
As COVID-19 lockdown restrictions are lifted, Camilla said she was feeling cautious but happy. She also said she's recently had a haircut, and found it a powerful experience since she wasn't able to do so in quarantine, just like all of us!
The radio presenter inquired, "I imagine it's a slight relief to get the hair done?"
"It is a relief I think for all women," Camilla replied. "I think a lot of them were crying out for a hairdresser throughout COVID."
The Duchess of Cornwall also provided insight on Charles's incredible fitness levels. Camilla describes the Prince of Wales, who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March and has since recovered, as "probably the fittest man of his age."
She continued, he will "walk and walk and walk… he's like a mountain goat and leaves everybody miles behind."
