With just a few months to go before the arrival of their first child, Princess Sofia of Sweden and her husband Prince Carl Philip are making sure everything is in order. The parents-to-be have been shopping at a baby and children's store, and they didn't leave empty-handed.

The couple spent the Christmas holidays travelling locally to the southernmost tip of Sweden, Skane county. It was in a small shop that they were spotted by a young woman Alva Lennwall.

The royal fan asked Carl Philip and Sofia, who is around six months pregnant, for a photo, and the couple happily obliged. "Of course," Sofia said, before turning to her husband who also agreed.

Alva then shared a picture of her encounter on Instagram, which showed Sofia taking centre stage. The princess dressed her blossoming bump in a stylish grey woolly wrap and sported a beautiful pregnancy glow.

"I was so surprised," Alva told local publication Expressen. "I saw that they were looking at the prams."

The shop owner confirmed that Sofia, 31, and Carl Philip, 36, had made a few purchases but wouldn't reveal exactly what.

Sofia has said that pregnancy feels "great"

2015 was a spectacular year for the royals, who married in June in a lavish royal wedding in Sweden.

It looks like Carl Philip and Sofia will be able to top it this year, as they are expected to welcome their first baby in April. Carl Philip's older sister Crown Princess Victoria is also due to give birth to her second baby the month before in March.

Shortly after announcing her pregnancy, Sofia admitted that she felt "great". The former model also told a reporter in New York that she wasn't planning on finding out the baby's gender. "It'll be a surprise!" she said.

Carl Philip added that his sisters Victoria and Madeleine, who are parents themselves, had shared some advice. "We've talked, but I'm not going into what they told me!" he laughed.
