Prince George is growing up to be a very well-mannered boy, an outing to a café recently showed. The future King and his mum Kate were visiting the Fakenham Garden Centre in Norfolk when they stopped for a break.

George was heard asking a café employee for a slice of cake, using his best – and sweetest – manners.

"Kate said to George, 'Ask the nice lady what you would like to have,'" a local told People. "George said, 'Excuse me nice lady, but can I have... ' and pointed to a cake on the counter.

"Then George sat down with Kate to eat his cake with a fruit juice."

The pair were enjoying a mother-son bonding day at the local garden centre, which is a 25-minute drive from their country home Anmer Hall.

Kate and George, who attends the nearby Westacre Montessori School in East Walton, are occasionally spotted by locals in the area.

The little Prince is a fan of petting zoos and last year he was pictured at Snettisham Park with his doting mum, where he got up close and personal with some baby goats.

George, who turned three last week, has also visited the animals at Bucklebury Farm, which is close to his grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton's home in Reading, Berkshire.

The little boy is currently on holiday with his parents Prince William and Kate, and his one-year-old sister Princess Charlotte, in France.

The family touched down at the small south-western airport of Pau-Pyrenees on Tuesday afternoon. The Cambridges arrived in style, flying in on the £8million Cessna private plane owned by their family friend the Duke of Westminster.

The Duke's 25-year-old son Hugh Grosvenor is one of Prince George's godparents.
