How Prince Philip's time in the Royal Navy influenced his life

<p><strong><a href="https://ca.hellomagazine.com/tags/0/prince-philip">Prince Philip</a></strong> had many personal interests, ranging from <a href="https://ca.hellomagazine.com/royalty/20210410110746/prince-philip-designs-funeral-car/"><strong>cars</strong></a> to sports. As his grandson <a href="https://ca.hellomagazine.com/tags/0/prince-harry"><strong>Prince Harry</strong></a> highlighted in <a href="https://ca.hellomagazine.com/royalty/02021041259823/prince-harry-prince-philip-tribute-master-of-the-barbecue"><strong>his moving tribute</strong></a>, the Duke of Edinburgh was a keen barbecuer. His interest in food didn't end there.
<p>The dad of four grew many of his own vegetables at the royal residences, and took pleasure in enjoying the local delicacies from countless royal tours across the globe.
<p>The Duke of Edinburgh was particularly good at whipping up breakfast and supper snacks. According to <em>Dinner at Buckingham Palace</em>, <a href="https://ca.hellomagazine.com/cuisine/2020052190222/prince-philip-daily-diet-revealed/"><strong>he insisted on</strong></a> having his electric glass-lidded frying pan packed wherever he went so he could get cooking!
<p>Former royal chef <a href=/tags/0/darren-mcgrady><strong>Darren McGrady</strong></a> has previously discussed the different palates of <a href=/tags/0/queen-elizabeth-ii><strong>The Queen</strong></a> and her husband, saying "The Queen eats to live whereas Prince Philip lives to eat."
<p>Philip embraced many parts of life, and food and cooking were no exceptions.
