Toronto Fashion Week is just around the corner, which means gorgeous Canadian clothing designed by talented homegrown heroes will soon be on display.

Every year there are standout moments, whether it's a high-profile model strutting her stuff at Joe Mimran’s Joe Fresh show, a magical runway that changes seasons mid-show at Mackage or daring attempts at abstract fashion from the designers themselves.

Burlington, Ontario-born designer Adrian Wu is a young talent with a flair for the dramatic, while the charity fashion show, Dare to Wear Love, gives designers the freedom to be as bold as they can be - and for a great cause!

Sid Neigum is also known for taking sartorial risks that pay off, hence his top spot at the Toronto Fashion Incubator's New Labels Competition in 2012.

Sometimes, designs are so conceptual that they are simply meant to be appreciated as art – pieces that, structurally, might not keep up with the day-to-day life of the average person, but serve as a testament to a designer’s ability as a visionary.
