Function meets fashion with Pink Tartan's washable collection

For a high-powered day at the office or a special night on the town, we turn to our high-end pieces — a beautifully-tailored skirt or a designer LBD -- to help us look and feel beautiful.

The problem? Our favourite luxe garments don't exactly go in the wash.

Enter Pink Tartan's Washable Collection, the brand’s first-ever clothing range that you can actually throw in the washing machine (and even the dryer).

Inspired by a promotional campaign with Tide Pods, the 10-piece capsule collection is made entirely from washable fabrics, which means you'll never have deal with the dreaded “dry clean only" and “please hand wash” tags.

Some of the no-fuss garments include a long-sleeve keyhole sweater in several rich colours (like burnt orange and royal blue), four pairs of black dress pants and a versatile, figure-hugging black dress.

“It’s great for a busy woman’s lifestyle, because you always have your perfect black pants at home," designer Kim Newport-Mimran told the Montreal Gazette. "The pants live your life with you. And it’s the go-to piece in my wardrobe."
