"I never felt more Canadian in my whole life than this last weekend," exclaims Kaitlyn Bristowe, who was still coming down from the thrill of a winter wonderland getaway with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Air Canada when we caught up with her on Monday (Jan. 30).
The former Bachelorette was one of a few VIP travellers to get a sneak peek at the new ultra-luxurious "Apres in the Air” experience, complete with private plane. Network location scouts take note, the chic and exclusive package is very one-on-one date-worthy.
Unfortunately, Kaitlyn was unable to recreate the magic of Bachelor-esque dating because she found herself skidooing, dogsledding and skating her way through Ottawa and Quebec without her longtime love Shawn Booth. "He was very jealous. He had clients with personal training back home so he couldn’t come," she admits, adding that she tried her best to include him.
"I tried FaceTiming while I was dogsledding. He was so jealous because this kind of thing is right up his alley, being from Connecticut."
While we didn't dig for any information on wedding plans (she has repeatedly stated that they haven't started) we did find out where she would love to honeymoon! "We really want to go to Greece. I don’t know where specifically but that’s on our list for honeymoon destinations. We actually want to do our wedding, whenever that is, somewhere warm and hot and then just travel around that area for our honeymoon."
The West Coast native relocated to Nashville, where Shawn is based, last year and tells us that she recently moved into a new neighbourhood and has been exploring the local music scene.
"I’ve always bee passionate about singing and dancing my whole life so I started writing songs with some people in Nashville and I’ve been recording some music. So I hope to release something. I don’t know when but I will." In the meantime, Kaitlyn says stay tuned for a "Boss Babes" podcast coming soon.
She explains: "The podcast is nothing specific yet. All I know is that it’s going to be women supporting other women. Kind of an empowering hour that will make you cry in a good way and laugh and just be fun."
And what about her old friend Nick Viall and his current quest for love on The Bachelor? "We're not watching. We didn’t watch Ben’s season either. It’s nothing personal against Nick or against Ben, it’s more like, we’re so busy that we don’t schedule time around our Monday nights to watch .... Also it’s kind of different when you’ve been there done that and you’re like "Okay, I know what goes on. I don’t need to watch anymore."
